It seems that every big company is forcing people to use their product on a rental basis, including the Microsoft Office. I say forget it. One can use Google (and hate these bastards) tools online unless you have a specific need to using Microsoft office. For privacy there has to be some alternative for Microsoft for free. I know Latex is a great alternative for publishing but not for casual notes. I will be digging into this issue more to see if I can find an alternative. If when I upgrade my older computer to Windows 10 I am going to get stuck, then I might have to give Mr. Gate some money.
