Couple of days ago (July 23rd 2019) a Russian boxer, Maxim Dadashev, died after collapsing in the ring. Two days after that Hugo Alfredo Santillán suffers the same fate in Buenos Aires. He too collapsed in the ring.
It took his Dadashev’s trainer 11 rounds to through in the towel. Dadshev was taken to a hospital where “half his skull” was removed in an attempt to save his life. Alfredo also collapsed in the ring and went into coma shortly after.
I do not understand how cock fighting is illegal and dog fighting is illegal; but an act in which two humans get into a “ring” and bang on each other’s heads for the sole purpose of sustaining as much injuries as possible and preferably knocking the other guys out unconscious, is considered sport. Not only that it is a pay-per-view and high profile celebrity-attended event!
