You can love it or hate it, but Obama care provide the opportunity for millions to maintain insurance they would not have had. If you make 100% or 400% for the poverty level, then you can get insurance and some help from the government in form of tax credit. In my opinion it is the next best thing to have universal health care. And insurance companies are making a killing, do not let the fool you.
However, care should be taken when filling your taxes to file the right forms and right amounts. If you make too much money (see articles in the comment section), you can still buy insurance in market place but you would not get subsidies. If you make too little you do not qualify either. Now they might send you to Medicaid. However if your state has not participated in the expansion of Medicaid, you are out of luck.
Moral of the story, if you cannot change the rules, find the place that have rules you like.
