The Little Kid in the Coffee Shop

He stood next to the door, with his head leaning on the fire alarm. People walked in and out as if he did not exist. The fact that he was pretty short probably did not help his social image.

While they paid no attention to them, his eyes followed every person in and out, he sized them up and down, and gave most a look in the eyes as if he wanted to say or hear something from them, a bit peculiar behavior from a kid. As people walked by without saying a thing, there was a disappointed look on his face. However, it was followed by a deep breath as if he was used to it.

I smiled at him, he gave me a very reserved smile back putting an end to any potential conversation. Then his most likely mother came out of the bathroom, and she started signing to him.
