Financial Goals

Having financial goals is important part of planning for the future. Having attainable financial goals is also as important since it gives you the feeling of having accomplished something.

As I walked out of the Dollar store, he came down pretty fast on his bike. He hit the break and asked me if I have any change to spare. Normally, I do not carry cash, or at least that is what I tell them.  But coming out of the Dollar store, and having literally my hand on my cash in my pocket, I did not have the heart to do so.

I grabbed all the change I had, 93 cents, and gave it to him.  He waited for the second victim, and also received some more change.  Then, he must have met his financial goals for the day, he took off and disappeared around the strip mall.

He must be really good in profiling since he did not ask everyone, just the selected few. So I admire the talent but I think he lacks the commitment. I mean why not ask more people for more money if it is working? He might be smart but does not have good work ethics.  Which is probably why he is doing what he is doing.

I went home thinking, what is the point of buying a small note book from the Dollar store for $1 and 7 cents in tax to save 20 or 30 cents if I was to give 93 to the beggar on the street!! Indeed it is a zero sum game.
